Amid Matt Bomer's new show threatening to delay the project, the White Collar revival gets an unexpected positive update. A decade since it wrapped up its original run on USA Network, White Collar is slated to return to continue Neal Caffrey and Peter Burke's story. Partially motivated by the streaming success of Suits, the new show will feature the core cast of the Jeff Eastin-created procedural, as they dive back into the world of art theft and forgeries. The idea of a White Collar revival has been in the works for a while now, but it's officially moving forward this time.

Months after it was announced, Eastin took it to his official X account to offer an update about the development of White Collar's return. Check out his social media post below:
Eastin came as Bomer attended the recently held 2024 Emmys. In the post, the writer and producer shared that a new White Collar script is going to the studio. Unfortunately, he didn't reveal any story details about the upcoming project.

Bomer's Hulu Comedy Can Delay The White Collar Revival

The great thing about the White Collar revival is that its core cast has already been locked. Joining Bomer are Tim DeKay and Tiffani Thiessen as Peter and Elizabeth Burke. This makes it easier for Eastin to work on the scripts, knowing which character he can use in the project's new iteration. While the behind-the-scenes process for White Collar moves forward quietly, a brewing scheduling issue could delay its release. Bomer's Hulu comedy, Mid-Century Modern, has just been ordered to series, and it's safe to say that he will prioritize that over his return as Neal.
Depending on where they are in production, the White Collar revival may also be eyeing a 2025 premiere, although it's likely that it will be in the latter half of the year.

Mid-Century Modern is set to release in 2025, and since it's on streaming, it's likely only going to have 10 episodes in its first season. Depending on where they are in production, the White Collar revival may also be eyeing a 2025 premiere, although it's likely that it will be in the latter half of the year. Considering Neal's importance to Eastin's show, it's unlikely that it will start filming without Bomer. So the cast and crew's work will be dependent on when he will be available to reprise the charming con-man.
Our Take On The White Collar Revival’s Chances Of Success
The White Collar Revival Has A Solid Premise

I was one of the people who watched White Collar during its initial run, so I am very excited about the revival. Granted that there are risks that come with revisiting Neal and Peter's story, but because of the way White Collar ended, it has a higher chance of succeeding compared to the many revivals we've seen in the last few years.

Neal's fake death offers an organic storytelling opening for the new show. In any case, it's also important to see that Bomer's character is reunited with Peter, especially considering how they were separated. Beyond that, there's also a need to honor Mozzie's legacy in the White Collar revival in light of Willie Garson's recent death.
